I'm a software developer engineer and I enjoy creating services and applications that empower users with seamless and meaningful experiences.
I was a documentary producer, journalist and teacher for 8 years at NPR member station WNYC before moving to the tech industry about 5 years ago. At Expedia I worked as a TPM for 2.5 years then switched over to Software Engineering a couple of years ago.
I’ve had great opportunities at Expedia working in different roles, which has helped me to understand varied perspectives of what it takes to deliver a product or feature. I’ve also taken on leadership roles, including when I founded an internal video production team to help communicate guiding principles and current projects from leadership throughout the organization.
As an engineer, I've worked on internal applications that served Expedia employees globally. Most recently, I contributed to an employee goal-setting (OKR) and information dissemination application (videos, blog feeds, employee profile, search, etc.): I used JavaScript and React library on the front end and for the back end, I used mainly JavaScript/Node, Java/Spring, and some Python/Django, developing microservices in AWS that provide RESTful apis for clients to consume or create data for internal use.
I'm highly motivated to improve process. I'm experienced in practicing agile methodologies and believe in continuous learning and growth mindset, cross-functional team collaborations, transparency, humility and team success. I'm committed to achieving high-quality code by taking the time to review and understand a problem deeply.
